This song is my heavenly music compo 2000 entry. Let's hope it will do
well in the compo !
As usually, my HMC entry is also the song I write for Corinne's birthday.
Today, she is 24 and still as beautiful as the first day I saw her.
Inspiration for this song came from various sources. 1st was the
peruvian band that always plays at the Chatelet tube station in Paris
(those who know Paris a bit know what I'm speaking of!). 2nd inspiration
came from another peruvian band that performed in my hometown for the
'Fete de la musique' ("the day of the music", on June 21th every
year...Merci Jack!). All this stayed somewhere in a dark corner of my mind
until it finally influenced me in the making of that track that, believe
me or not, had to be a dance track (and not a HMC entry!).
While listening to this song, I picture the high mountains of the Andes in
Peru where the Inca lived peacefully (or not...I in fact know very few
about them) before the Conquistadores came. I imagine their
unknown and untold mysteries that made so many people dream of.
Yep...you are right ! When I speak of 'Inca mysteries' It is for sure a
direct effect of myself watching too much 'the 7 cities of gold' cartoon
while I was a kid (you for sure have seen that cartoon. In France it was
broadcasted under the name "Les mysterieuses cites d'or"...remember the
title song...wo-hoo les cites d'o-oo-orr...remember now ?).
I've heard France 2 re-broadcasts it...maybe should I watch the TV
programm closer...
Now some techincal stuff...Like in almost all my ambiant/newage tracks in
the last year, it uses realtime resonant filterings (Zxy effect in
IT.EXE). This means that to be able to replay this song correctly, you
have to have a compatible player. Modplug player does allright (but be
sure to have 300mhz/64 channels mixing mode turned on or you will have bad
surprises). IT2.14 works also allright on a SB/MMX system (press shift-F5
to set up to MMX, filtered mode). Gus does not work as it's hardware does
not support realtime filtering in IT (but it works with Modplug). As far
as I know, there are *NO* linux nor Macintosh players playing those
effects right (atleast for now).
For all those who can't get (or can't get working) a player that can
handle this, I suggest you to download the mp3 version of this song on
http://www.mp3.com/TNK
OK now, enjoy the music and have fun !
