Heh, I think that it's fairly obvious who this was influenced by - Pungent
Stench and Testament :) And in true Pungent style, there are some nice
anti-catholic lyrics here >:D A piss-take of paedophiles in the
catholic church. Imagine Testament playing a version of PS's `Rex
Paedophilus', and it would probably sound something like this :) There's a
lot of 6/8 in here, and a lot of that Testament style "dun dundun dundun
dundun" beat...I love it. The drums are kinda like a mixture of Dave
Lombardo and the drummer in my band as well, generally fast shed-building
but with occasional weird bit or technical thing.
Hmmm...this is kinda like a fun tune to listen to, and can be really
amusing to growl/puke along to. Especially if you're drunk :) Around the
Birmingham true metal scene this song has kinda passed into legend because
my speed-death side project Addicted To Violence play it as an encore (it
doesn't suit our musical style, but the audience love it, it's funny, and
it fits our lyrical content well). But I suppose with a guy (Barney, my
vocalist) jumping all over the stage and into the audience and using a mic
as a cock substitute and then shouting "I'm gonna give you 8 inches of
God!", it was always going to be remembered I suppose...ahh...the things
that I do for metal...
