4 the fun only - don't take that song seriously !

(+) : The term "Quackery" has nothing to do with the Quackers...The
Quackery is just the name of the local lake ! visit it at :

Go to my NMA promoter's site (Ambiant/New age/orchestral oriented) :

As you might have guessed, this song is a cover of an old song from my
area (Alsace, France) that is called "Hans em Schnaugaloch". Some writings
about it dating from 1619 have been found and that song is probably even
older. That's why I can't give proper credits to it's composer and why I
can use it freely : It has fallen into public domain for ages.

This song is almost the Anthem of Alsace ! Everyone in my area knows that
song. Some famous restaurants in the area are even called Schnaugaloch
because of this song ! It deals about Hans (In english John) who's never
happy altough he has everything...a quite common attitude among us.

It is the 3rd version of this song I do. I already did one in 1995
(4-channels MOD, TP5 music compo entry) and in 1997 (24 channels XM)
Of course, the 39 channels IT version is the best Hans em Schnaugaloch
release done so far by me.

This song wouldn't have been possible without the help of Christophe (who
played those cool accordeon sequences and also the single accordeon lead
sound that I also used in quite many other songs) and CelineHawai whose
awesome laugh replaces Virginie, Virginie and Severine's laugh that was
used in the previous versions of Hans em Schnaugaloch. I also have to
thank the population of Village-Neuf (my home town) for the crowd samples.

The lyrics of this song are sung by me in our local dialect
(Alsacian...not to be mistaken with French...). Note that this cover is
not made to make that song silly, it's just a funny way to keep it up to
date. I have too much respect to the original song I learned when I was 3.
As this songs has always been a party song, It's quite normal that
it is mixed into today's partysongs style : Dance music. Making it into
dance music IS making it live and not betraying it's soul. It's not
cultural corruption, it's keeping the local culture alive.
Not many songs are still vivid more than 400 years after their appearance
(Do you think Sash will still be that popular in 2400 AD ?), so this song
does force the respect on that point. Long life to the Hans em
Schnaugaloch ! Hopla !

For those who prefered beeing with their girlfriend of boyfriend rather
than following the geography classes, Alsace is an area in northeastern
France. It's main city is Strasbourg and It is on the German and Swiss
border, the Rhine making it's border to Germany.

Now the lyrics...

Alsacian :

Jetz get's laus met'm Hans em Schnaugaloch !

(***) again

As 99.99% of you won't have understood these lyrics, here come the english
version (more or less translated by me) :

Let's go with John in the bug hole !

Go !

(*)
John in the bug hole has everything he wants
But what he want's he doesn't have and what he has he doesn't want
John in the bug hole has everything he wants

(**)
Dance with John, Dance with John, Dance with John in the bug hole
Dance with John, Dance with John, Dance with John 'till the end of the
night
Dance with John, Dance with John, Dance with John in the bug hole
Dance with John, Dance with John, Dance with John at the old Rhine

Go !

(*) again

(***)
John in the bug hole goes everywhere he wants
But where he is he doesn't like and where he likes he isn't there
John in the bug hole goes everywhere he wants

(**) again

John... John... John John John John

(*) again
(***) again

Now John is fed up with it, Life is too flat to him
He wouldn't like to die but he says he can't live
John in the bug hole doesn't know what he wants

Bug hole hole hole hole
Bug hole hole hole hole
Bug hole hole hole hole

Let's go faster !

(*) again

Faster !

(***) again

Some of those lyrics were added by me. In fact just (*), (***) and Now
John is fed up... are original lyrics. The rest were added by me to fit
more to the dance music style. Call it a free adaptation of the original
song.

OK people, have fun with Hans and expect new TNK releases one of those
days (in clear : check my websites often !)
