My first new production in almost four months. I have been preoccupied
with school, work, and life in general. I have been moving over to gfx and
webdesign more than music lately, and it has taken its toll on my
emotions. Tracking does more than just help you with music...it let's your
mind wonder and your soul free. And yes, here's the story for this tune:
I was talking on the phone with my girlfriend, Christine, when I turned
on my Korg X5 and decided to tinker around a bit. I was playing with a few
simple chord progressions and I happened upon what is now the main theme.
After I got off the phone, I completely forgot about it, until November
30, when I was sick and I decided to play around with Impulse Tracker,
just to get my mind off my terribly sore throat. I decided to track out
the main bassline and lead, and the rest of the song followed soon after.
Now it is around 1 A.M. and my throat still hurts, it is now December. The
song is finished and I shall go to sleep with the melody haunting my
slumber. Ahh well...the fees we pay as trackers, eh? =)

Hall of Reflections
I walk through the dimly lit room, feeling the cold air caress my face.
I see a door at one end of the empty space. As I walk towards the large
wooden frame, I feel a sense of warmth and comfort. I swing open the door,
feeling the weight of the metal-encased wood. Before me lies a long
corridor, with mirrors all around. I step inside and ponder where the
light is coming from. The door slams behind me as I begin to walk further
and further in. Then, the end of the hall leaps to life as light appears
from thin air. As I walk towards the light, I feel its warmth. I wince at
the brightness as I hear a sound. It is your voice; calling mine. I try to
speak, but the words do not pass my throat. I see you in the light. You're
reaching out for me...I run as fast as my legs will carry me; ever closer
to the light. I leap with my arms extended; my body crashing against the
wall. The light is gone. My head hurts. I stand and look around, tears
beginning to stream down as I ponder in vain as to your wherabouts.
I feel something on my right shoulder. I spin around and there you are,
smiling at me. I pull you closer as I look into your eyes, and kiss you
with passion only known to the two of us. The light reappears, and we step
inside, leaving behind only reflections of what was once our earthly
presence.
