The Frozen Lotus Blossom May 18, 1997
By Behemoth of Psychze
Well I decided against instruments or drumloops...just kinda wanted to
keep this one kinda simple, ya know?
This tune was originally written inside 4 hours...but I wanted to keep
experimenting so it took me two full days of work to complete. No this
isn't a chiptune...I just don't care for having lots of unneccesary 16-bit
samples that I can make sound just as good in 8-bit.
When you listen to this tune, try to picture this in your mind:
It is winter in Japan, just before dawn. High in a mountain lies a icy
sheet that was once a lakebed. On the shore, barely visible amongst
the snow, a solitary lotus, frozen solid. See if you can see the icicles
on the pedals. As the sun begins to rise, the ice slowly starts to melt
as the lotus regains its original color and beauty. All through the day,
the ice turns to water and falls off the lotus like raindrops. By noon,
the lotus stands alone amongst the serene landscape as the water flows
down the hill. The lotus is love. The water is life. The sun is God.
