             - classic touched soothing melodic ambient -
                (OSS, 12 channels, 117 bpm, 4:28 mins)

Yet another one of those long unfinished tracks. I had those
chords. I loved them. And I didn't know what to do with them. The
first attempt was a really boring Aphex Twin style minimal
ambient track, repeating those chords over and over. The second
attempt combined a piano intro and outro with a shortened version
of the first attempt. I listened to it a couple of times and almost
deleted the whole thing, if those chords weren't so damn nice.

After about half a year or so I finally picked the project up
again, and who knows what happened, all of a sudden the muse gave
me a big hug and a friendly kiss, and it went very smooth from
that moment on. The result you're about to hear now is the
product of only a couple of days, plus the usual "naaah, lets
wait a bit, listen to it again, do some polishing" delay. :)

And yes, I rrreally like it. Actually, with "Wings in the wind",
"Stillpoint" and now this one, I have the feeling that those
songs are the best I ever did (as usual :-) - all of my work from
the past did not leave me with the high degree of satisfaction
                         that I achieved now.

"Sweet Sister, I hope you feel it too!"

This one is using OSS' echo function (cross-echo) at its maximum
echo rate of 50%; my personal opinion is that you can't really
use this echo rate except when doing ambient - it eats the
precision and sharpness of especially the drums, and there's no
drums in this track, thats why I dared to use the high echo rate.

What can I say, enjoy the track, I played it so many times while
working on the different versions of it, and I still like it, and
                  that actually means something! :)

Please use the 14bit mixing routines of your OSS player with a
high mixing frequency, and other than that, give it time enough,
play it entirely, it has some of those moments you just wouldn't
want to miss if you like that sort of music. I just hope that the
song catches you as much as it catched me while working on it.

PC users: rename the file to "Mute Lands.med" and you can replay
it with WinAmp using the Med plugin! (this name convention is
crap - as is the suffix based file recognition of WinAmp - as
there's at least three different "med" formats. The precise
suffices for those would be ".MMD0" or ".med", ".MMD1" or ".omed"
                        and ".MMD2" or ".oss")

to the lot of other friendly peeps around me for providing
motivation & athmosphere, especially those who sent email
feedback, giving proof to me that I do have an audience out
                              there! :)

As usual, feedback is highly appreciated, just drop me a line via
email, neurodancer@gmx.de is the address, don't hesitate.

Below some nice comments I received after the release of the past
couple of modules... thanks a lot for that huge magic potion of
motivation, you know who you are:

`` I just want to comment on the "Wings in the Wind" module you
composed. I just heard it and, well I love it. I lie, I didn't
/just/ hear it. I heard it 5 times in the space of one hour.
[...] your module certainly digs it's hooks into you with all
those ethnic instruments and the pace. Well done. ''

                                 --

`` BTW, I love your music. I download a lot of mods from Aminet,
and end up deleting most of them. But I'm glad to have wandered
into the mods/neuro section [...]. Thank you, [...] for some
GREAT music. Can't wait to delve into your stash there at Aminet. ''

                                 --

`` Just been listening to some trax of yours, I happen to think
they're real neat! The one I got playing right now is Wings in
the Wind. It's really cool, I always did like ethno type stuff. ''

                                 --

`` I just downloaded your nifty "Stillpoint" oss mod. [...] I
play it on my AD516 using Kenny Nilson's AHI utility. For an 8
bit mod it sounds pretty good! Keep up the good work! ''

                                 --

`` I've been in the Amiga World since 1989, and I've never
listened to such great musics! For me, they are the best by
quality, originality and technique! (I haven't stopped listening
[...] since last week!!! And your long time of work (several
months!) has given this excellent result. What perseverance! ''

                                 --

And hail to all true trackers out there!
