" C H A R G E W H I T E H O R S E . . . "
The inspiration for this song, comes ironically from my last song:
"Shift to Trance." I didn't really like the song. So, I sat down and
tried to figure out what it was that I havn't been doing lately. When I
was on my song streak earlier in 1998, I was trying to create midievil
songs, or something at least resembleing tunes from the dark ages. So, I
decided to jump back to my traditional methods: No electronically
generated samples, orchestral...etc. Guess what? It worked. This is
probably one of my favorite tunes to date (of my own work). I did a lot
of case studies for this one. I studied a lot of work by Catspaw (one of
the few orchestral trackers left these days), Jase's "Kingdom Skies," a
lot of work by Vegas and Fred, and so on. I feel I came up with an
entertaining song, and probably one of my best to date.
Please, let me know what you think. Am I on the right track? Shall I
just continue doing orchestral music and give up this quest to learn how
to track techno styles? Take this song, pull it apart, kick it around.
Tell me what works...tell me what doesn't work. Explain exactly why some
part might suck. You can totally hate the song and admit it to my face,
as long as you tell me why. I want to grow...I want to get better. But I
need help.
