                       Contrapunctus I: Sinfonia in c#




         Sinfonia in triple invertible counterpoint. Three themes

        are constructed that can be used in any order from bass

        to soprano without compromising textural integrity.

         Free interludes are inserted between different combinations

        of which 4 to full 6 are accepted for the final inventio.

         Sinfonia of Bach's day is an invention with three voices.

        Inventio is a small piece with sparse thematic material

        and the emphasis lies on variation and thematic process.

        250 years have passed since the master of counterpoint
        passed away. To celebrate his legacy and promote polyphonic
        music whose pinnacle his works represent, I shall write
        a series of contrapuntal pieces in tribute to him.
