        On a bus ride back from Houston one night, at about 1:00 am,
I looked out upon the stars and realized that only two things were for
sure. I was alive... and my hand hurted. Only two things.
        Out there are things I may never see, and may never get, but if I
worry about them, then I will never see the things I have. I may not have
had a girlfriend, and I may not have done a lot of things that I could
think of to be proud of, but I was alive, and I knew the nerves on my hand
were working. Tommorow, a nuclear missile could destroy me, taking my
life, my hand, and the girlfriend and memories I never had. Should I be
prepared for that to happen, and live my life alone and never making my
mark upon the world? No... there would no reason to live... to have
endless years of oppurtunities to make my mark and get that girl, and
spend them worrying about something that may never happen would be wasting
my life. So I listen to the sounds of the battle around me... lonely,
protecting all others... and with a hurt hand.
