The song IMPACT205 (also known as "BDD's Theme 5") was actually based on a
instrumental synthesizer part in the Italo dance classic "Shotgun (Into the
Night)" from "Laserdance".
BDD of IMPACT already made a separate MSX version of the "Shotgun" song, but
he somehow made the decision to compose a whole new song around this single
synthesizer part.

I needed the BlueMSX-emulator and FAC Soundtracker Pro for the FM-sounds of
the main instruments. Those FM-instruments are great for sampling. You can
play them at any note as long as you prefer. The samples were recorded with
Audacity.
The four background music samples gave me more trouble, because they were not
instruments, but old samples as well. The MSX music module could sample
sounds on one channel, but the quality of a long sample was really bad.
These samples however were essential to the song, so I had to enhance the
quality somewhat to fill them in.

The original artist behind "Laserdance" later took part in "Koto", and was
responsible for the hit "Dragons Legend". Both songs share some rhytm
elements (not strange: same time, same composer..)
That's why I inserted some percussion elements of this song as well.
MyVoice made them earlier.

I made the song in MilkyTracker, with some help of OpenMPT.
