This is "The Memory Remains" by Metallica, re-tracked by Modesty Drummer,
for the music disk "Tracker Aggression - Exhumed", arranged by Frizzlefried.

My first version of the tune was on the disk Tracked Aggression 2.

List of changes:

- Sampled guitars
- Stereo (the left speaker is James, right is Kirk)
- Much more accurate (still, no tabs used)
- All solos are there
- No "vocals"
- Basswork is pretty much different

Listen to it yourself, there are lots of small differences :-)

One think I'm not too satisfied with, is Kirk's guitar at the
part after 2:nd chorus, where Marianne Faithful sings in the
original song. He uses some kind of octaviser, and I don't, so
in my tune, that part is actually one octave too low =/ ..

I was going to try to tune my guitar up, to actually record the notes
that he's playing, but that just resulted in a broken string.

The solos are kind of pathetic, with the wah, but I think it would've sounded
even worse without it .. :-) I'm not good at solos, and I hate them, although
these solos were very easy to figure out compared to many other solos.

I've sampled the bell from the ride cymbal and the hihats from
my own drumkit, and the snaredrum from Metallica's "2x4" to make
it sound more like the original tune. I know, there is a slight
humming in the end of the sample..

Play this song in Modplug, while it is not IT-compatible, just
like "Moonchild" wasn't. I know it sucks, but it's tracked in
modplug tracker. I really don't like the program but since
IT can't support more than 99 samples I had no chioce =/

This song contains no vocals, since I don't think it would
really add anything to the song, but actually make it worse.

I think it's OK to add vocals on death/black metal songs, but not in
this kind of music.

Since I'm so lazy, this song was completed on Saturday 2 -02, one day
before the deadline. Almost all drums were created this day. The other
shit has taken much longer, I've been working for months, but .. I've
done very little the days I've been working :-)

Unfortunatly the song is not very optimized, I could probably cut lots
of samples etc, to make the filesize much smaller, but I don't have time
for that, so it's about 4 MB.

The sample and instrument lists look like shit, and I know, it's
totally inecessary to have that many instruments, but .. it's the
way it turned out, never mind :-)
