. whether this song is a representation of pain or a representation of
my understanding of pain i don't know. usually i sit down at a
tracker and form a song into what i want it do be. the reverse
seemed to happen with this song. this song wrote itself and kind
of left me wondering what it was all about. perhaps it's
mistitled .. i'm not really sure.
. i found it kind of odd, and contrary to my beliefs, that pain wsan't
really a feeling, or any sort of state of being. instead it's a
dynamic space in time. a range of emotions: melancholy, dispair,
hopelessness, anger, rage, numbness, apathy.
. i found it kind of odd, how many people are masochists. sadists i
can understand, but masochists are beyond me. especially since
all of us have small masochistic tendencies in them .. especially
me. my idea of life, as a member of the human species, is to
become as powerful as i can, crushing all beneath me. so we do we
do things that hurt us? that we know hurt us?

. well this was the first song that i actually finished for my little
project entitled "Musical Essence". it was actually pretty
important that i finished this one when i did, because i was
trying to play around with about three other ideas at the time to
fit into my disk, and they weren't going anywhere :( .. this one
just sort of wrote itself, and really got the ball rolling i
suppose
. this was also the first song i think i've ever written which didn't
have percussion of some sort. i tried to fit in a drum trak in
a couple times, but as you can probably tell by the style of the
song, it didn't fit in very well :D. actually it's sort of funny ..
when i first started this song, it was supposed to be a sort of a
semi-humorous song, actually a sequel to my MC5 entry "Farm
Animals". i had been working on for about an hour or so, and was
really getting pissed off, thinking to myself, "damn, i can't hear
the piano very well with PJ Katie talking." and so i took out the
PJ Katie voice samples and realised that i could make a semi-r0qn
piano tune with the chord progression i had. heh that was quite a
disappointing story wasn't it? :D
. okay i suppose i should do some greets here. the nice thing about
doing a disk is you have plenty of time to think of everyone you
want to greet before you release anything...so here goes:
