here's the song everyone (except everyone except chuckb who's the only
one that'd heard it :) ) has been waiting for. phunky phat house. well,
it's my first released song in this style (i have another approx. 6 min
house track lying around waiting to be fixed up for probable future
release) but then again, maybe my next few songs'll all be a first in a
particular style, since i don't quite have a bulky discography yet. :)
this one's exactly 6 minutes, and,.. i like it. :)
i started implementing panning, but the horrible facts of panning were a
force greater than my will to keep this song from being released into the
big world yet another month, which you'd be aware of, if you've used
panning before: namely, the fact that stuff sounds louder on certain
amounts to any particular "side" (not sure if this is a phenomenon only
present on wavetable cards, but i had a similar and very annoying thing
on my pas16); also the fact that it basically sounded quite crap compared
to how it is now (ie. w/o panning :) ) (mostly for the previous
"phenomenon" i guess); and also if i did implement full panning, i'd want
to do a proper job, eg., have lead instruments have their echos on the
opposite side, etc., since otherwise there's no use doing it - it sounds
better w/o :)
anyway it's certainly my best song to date, and i hope to carry on this
standard (be it with "commercial", already-developed styles of music, or
stuff more on the experimental side, which i don't consider particularly
any less good), in the future. and i DO have stuff already planned
for the future, so get ready to don that generic "necros" search-spec
on the hornet ha4 search proggie to replace with "turrican" in the
very near future! :)
blahblah...
anyway, i guess some thankses / hellos to some people are in order..
(since i've never really done this sorta crap before, and maybe won't
for some time ;) )
all on #trax; if the list of people on #trax on particular days is
anything to go by, i don't think i could write all the
people that i know in that list w/o increasing this song's
size considerably :)
chuckb; for giving me some advice on things (re. this song of course),
mostly "abstract" sort of ideas, which i really should listen to
and USE - maybe in my next song eh?! :) (i wasn't really in a
stage of this song where i could actually to a great extent do
anything he said, if ya know what i mean...)
