- carrying the sense ob-
- ject of the previous
- element plus its own.
- So air carries the
- sound object of ether,
- plus its own of touch.
- Fire had the two sense
- objects mentioned plus
- its own object; form.
- Water adds the sense
- object of taste, and
- finally earth contains
- all sense objects,
- including its own
- object of smell.
- Time is the force that
- keeps the elements
- always mixing in unli-
- mited varieties of
- combinations, thus
- manifesting everything
- that we perceive.
