                        A COMET'S PATH

                          By Eterman

Thanks to David Baldacci. I was reading his "Absolute Power" when I
started working on this. As I gave the final touch, the book I was
reading was "Total Control". I didn't really think about it, but why not,
perhaps I really gained some glimpses of inspiration from those novels.

If those books really gave me inspiration, it doesn't show. Should it?
In case you think it should, you have a totally different grasp of
 inspiration compared to mine.

There are actually kind of two parts in this song. 00-23 and 24-35, don't
you think? I mean, somehow the chord progressions at the first part
really differ some quite much from the latter part.

Those chord progressions are, by the way, quite interesting throughout
the whole song. Especially in the first part. I don't know if they do
create the impression, but I picture myself a lonely comet flying through
a restless galaxy recording all the mysterious things it observes.

Well...at least I succeeded in making something new to my style. Well,
I don't know if I really have a style. If I do have one it can't really
be described using musical terms. I perhaps tend to create
familiar-sounding melodies, but I definently do not repeat myself. That's
something I keep a good care of. Never to repeat myself. Perhaps that's
one reason why it's seldom easy to chategorize and analyze my songs. I
don't have a formula. I don't want to borrow one. This far only making
what I feel like has brought me many different ideas and quite a many
actual pieces of various music types.

If I copied other people's ideas, maybe then my music was easy to
describe. It might also be more popular. But those are factories I
 never learnt to evaluate.

Perhaps this is because I don't accept the common definitions of
 "good music".

Another thing: Do you call another Big Mac -hamburger art? And if you do:
is a Mac Donalds employee an artist? Is every photocopy of Mona Lisa
art? Wouldn't that make a copying machine an artist?

I've heard so many copy songs. There seems to be no copyright anymore.
This is also related to another phenomenon. Composing is nowadays less
appriciated than before. The actual performance is more important than
the original idea. And this is because there aren't any truly new songs
 in the popular music anymore.

That's why I seldom appreciate popularity. Not because it's cool, but
because I just don't agree with the common view for "good music".

  33. space fantasy/orchestral,

  35. For me it sounds okay.

  44. My brother complained

  46. though. That's quite
  47. understandable...
