i suppose credits and song info should go first, so here it is:
credit to propellerheads software for rebirth.. the killer program that
made those 303 loops so easy to create. i used a combination of impulse
tracker, and hammerhead for the drumloops.. a few drum samples were
created in *stomper*, which totally kicks ass, in case you didn't know.
the samples I didn't create came from hunz, who makes the most kickass
samples using a combination of software synths. hunz, you are the man.
(in case you're wondering, hunz made some of the samples in the weird
loops, and samples 7 and 4.)
the song itself was inspired by a dark sci/fi vision that i had while i
was playing the piano. of course, when inspiration strikes, i listen.
for those of you who have missed my regular releases... i'm sorry, i've
been very busy with commercial projects lately. i have bills, ya know.
this style change might be quite a shock at first, but it is still very
much me. a lot of my music lately has a similar feel. yes, i'm still
doing piano music, but i gave up trying to track it. if you want to hear
my piano compositions, i promise, someday i'll release a piano-only cd.
i'm looking to join or form a group of serious commercial composers
to work on game or film soundtracks. i want to tackle one project at a
time, as a group, and share resources. for example, I'd really like to
hear a nice guitar part in this song, but I don't have a guitar
available to me. if you know of such a group, or you're interested in
joining me to form one, please contact me.
fyi... this is not a final mix of this song... it will probably be way to
huge to release as an IT. if you're interested in the final mp3, mail me.
