: : BUZZ OFF : :
Written by Martin Bazley on 2/9/2007.
Now how about this for something unusual? A very long-term
project, this song only uses 3 voices, all of which are very
short 'buzz' sounds - although I did try to get the
'softest' (that doesn't mean volume) ones I could, so this
tune isn't too hard on the ears. Oh, and it's in 6 channels
- first time since Empty Distances, unless you count an
abandoned hardcore project.
According to Digital Symphony, 97% of this song is score,
4% is patterns and 0% is sample data - 101% in total.
Hmm. Maybe we shouldn't trust Digital Symphony too much.
Anyway, 140 of 43,376 bytes is sample data. This is truly a
work of 'modern song art'.
Stats: 83 (&53) positions, equivalent to 5 minutes and 25.1
seconds of real-time music. 165, yes, 165 separate patterns
and 3 samples, all contributing to an uncompressed 43 KB
file. See what happens when you remove the samples?
SMASHED the previous small-file record!
