This bud's for you,
I've got nothing to do.

So let's share some pot,
I think it's all I've got.

Maybe it'll make you smile,
at least for just a while.

Sometimes I just need a moment
away from my life's torment.

In a cloud of smoke,
as I take a toke

I can feel free from this life
and all of it's strife.

What am I alive for?
My existance is just a joke...

So it's four twenty tonight,
and I think I'll be alright.

You know what to do,
this bud's for you.

I was just thinking, my AWE 32 is actually a nice piece of
equipment. I mean, besides the clicks and crap, it sounds
nicer. I used to think that the reverb and all that made a song
not sound like the musician intended, after all, you can put
echos and reverb in the song manually, however, when I decided
to see what I could do with NNAs, the AWE handled it fine, but
when I tried playing through SB16 mode, it slowed to hell on my
little P133. And I suppose a GUS would be choking too... what
I still like about the GUS and Impulse Tracker is that the GUS
does not click like the AWE does. All these new PCI sound cards
are the new thing, they are actually VERY nice, much better than
this AWE I paid a million bucks for a while back. I hate to say
it but my GUS will sit in my closet forever now... 1 meg is just
not enough memory really... in fact I was working on a song which
contained a lot of voice samples and it went over 2 megs, luckily
I invested in some cheap 4 meg simms for my AWE. That's what I
always liked about the AWE32, unlike the AWE64, you can actually
put your old 30 pin simms directly onto the board. The new PCI
soundcards though, are little tiny cards, not giant ones like
the AWE32 or the GUS, and they use system ram like the SB16!
You can set it to use as much ram as you want, not limited to
8 megs like the AWE32, or however much you can buy from Creative
Labs for the AWE64. The other neat thing about the PCI soundcards,
they cost about $19, unlike the Creative Labs PCI64 which costs
quite a bit more. All the PCI cards are pretty much the same.
It used to be that a lot of the 16 bit cards were shitty, I mean
they have crackling or hissing, now that was just bullshit. A real
SB16 was the only way to go back then... but the way things are
going now, any generic sound card, video card, modem, 3d accelerator,
or anything pretty much, are about the same in performance, or at
least you don't notice a difference. So my whole point is, there's
less a chance you will get burned by buying cheap now...

I guess that wasn't much of a point. I don't think I care anymore
anyway so you can stop reading now.

Really.

Whatever, late.
