a walk though the park, once again...

re-constructed in may of the year 2000.

originally tracked in about 2 hours sometime back around may of 1996.
nothing is changed except the cool pad lines to help fill out the sound
and a few levels and panning things fixed.

hi to past and present phluid members. its been an intersting part of my
life tracking all these years. watching and even sometimes getting
involved in this scene (sb99 demo compo!! w00t). i have grown up admiring
phluid and its members and their music for years. im happy and proud to be
a part of it and to this day sometimes still dont feel worthy. there have
been many other big groups that have ruled the scene and still carry alot
of weight with them, kosmic, fm, noise or the legendary future crew. but
to me phluid ranks right up there. because they all were in the same
limelight the way i perceived the scene and module groups back around 1995
when i got into this. to be honest i havent payed much attention in the
last year or two and dont even quite know if those other groups are really
even active anymore in releasing modules. but i know phluid still is. and
it is a tribute, expecially with this music disk, to the tracking music
scene that we have endured all of these years. some of us are still to
stubborn to trade in our trackers for soft synths and insane midi setups.
sure many are branching out into that, and releasing mp3's, but they still
have that soft spot in their heart for the art that we call tracking and
continue to do so. i think thats what todays up and coming musicians dont
understand, its not about electronic music, its not about whats the newest
most powerful 'tracker' out there. its the art, the obscurity and the
creativy that comes from an honest to goodness sample based dos tracker.
and thats what we are here for. to pay homage to the art of tracking that
began so many years ago on the c64 or amiga. for the simplistic archaic
mode of musical expression that we have grown to love and cherish.

this is why i felt compelled to release one of my early modules. one that
i have actually enjoyed for its simplistic melodies that i cant get out of
my head to this very day. that i made while still innocent and utterly in
love with this thing called tracking. it was made for the sake of being
able to do so.

heres a neat story, ever wonder why i got a computer in the first place?
to track! yes, to track. i was at a friends house and he had iplay and
some mods. i was like i can do that on a computer? SHOW ME!@ they built me
a 386 outta spare parts and gave me cubic player and null modem cabled me
like 100 megs of mods. finally i found st3 and just starting hittin keys,
and well here i am 5 years later. no kidding. thats how i got started. so
when i go off about how softh synths suck and blah blah, its because im
angry that the thing i love about my computer, the reason i got into it,
the reason i continue to lull around this 'scene' is for the love of
tracking, and every day i see it sliding further into obscurity. its soon
becoming the lost art. and deemed lame and old skool. which is a shame.

i know i will continue to enjoy tracking and listening to and trading
tracks as long as i continue to enjoy music itself.

the point of this disk is to be nastalgic to phluid. but i see it as
being nastalgic to tracking as well.

enjoy. and to all my newly found phluid brothers present and past. i
salute you.

Actually, I think let's go try that on our PC now because they tend to communicate with other users and sticking to its own because of the confusion shown but about their users
