        been a long time since my last release... which comes as no real
        surprise, given that i've had absolutely zero inclination to
        track or otherwise engage in creative activity within the past
        several years. interesting, how a thoroughly toxic and miserable
        marriage will do that.

        so many of us live our lives in a state of quiet desperation,
        seeking to move neither forward nor back. we remain this way not
        because it brings us happiness or comfort, but because we fear the
        unknown, and what it may bring. this, i think, is a survival
        instinct--it shows in the way that we tend to instinctively
        respond to any change in our environment.

        there is a serious fallacy in this train of thought. a person
        can bear only for so long the burden of an abusive relationship, a
        job they despise, or any other living situation which brings them
        pain. remaining in this comfort zone, however miserable, is a time
        bomb awaiting an improper moment to ring out... for they are
        merely surviving, not living.

        eventually, either the bonds will break, or the soul will... and
        the only person who can make that decision is you. survive you
        might in a state of quiet desperation, but eventually you will
        either collapse under the onus of your life... or discover the
        salvation that lies in singularity.
