Final Fantasy VIII: Battle Theme
--------------------------------

Original by: Nobuo Uematsu

Tracked to IT and MID by: Mathew Valente [TSSF]
                          tssf@rogerswave.ca

Copyright notice:

all samples marked "ff7pc" are from eidos' awe64 ff7pc sound font. All
were either edited for volume or looped. That's it. I take no blame in
what people intend to do with these samples if they are to rip them. That
goes for FF7LB1.IT, FF7MIX.IT, FF8MIX.IT, and TIFA.IT.

If I get any hastle from Square of Eidos, I will not use any of these
samples in one of my songs ever again.

***
All samples marked [TSSF] are MY samples (I made them through editing and
mixing existing channels. Please don't use them without my permission or
at least give me credit for them. If you think that you should have a
right to use these samples because I created them through mixing or
editing them, think again. Make them yourself if you're that confident.

Resonant Filters:

There are Resonant Filters in this song, but VERY little. Default Cut on
some samples are set. If you have an MMX or are listening to this through
the latest MikIT, you will notice the strings are more filtered than they
will be on non-Resonant Filter supported players/loaders.

MikIT and other mod player problems:

This song tends to use a lot of features that I fealt were needed to make
the song actually work right.

Example:

C-5 04 .. .00 - Volume Envelope Sustain Loop
D-5 04 .. GFF - " " "
E-5 05 .. GFF - Volume Envelope No Loop <- Notice the Intstrument Change

Anyway, Apparently MikIT doesn't like this. I don't know if this problem
is in any other player. All i can suggest is to wait for a fix, let
MikMak (maker of MikIT) know, or just listen to it in Impulse Tracker.

Notes:

Well, I'm finally done huh? cool :) I think some people might agree that
this music sounds more like background music than a catchy battle theme.
Some people even think this doesn't sound like battle music at all. It
does to me personally, but that's just me. Hehe, do you hear Cid's theme
from FF7? And the starting sort of sounds like the beginning to Jenova
Absolute, eh? :) Well, I'm glad this song turned out better than my first
FF7 Battle mod (yeah yeah, we all remember THAT)

Oh, I have a new policy towards unfinished work, too. No one gets it. If
you're from #sstrax and reading this, that means you too. I will not send
anyone unfinished work from now on. I hate it when people start
destributing my unfinished work. Oh well. Anyways, Enjoy the song :)
