;# assembly 97
the original version of this tune is actually unfinished.. this module
is the 3-minute assembly 97 version which has been massively cut down.
(the original mix will probably end up being about 6 minutes and contains
at least 20 to 30 more patterns). this also had to be downsampled from
around 3.5meg to fit the 1meg restriction.
look out for bliss.it in the future on ftp.hornet.org or email me if
you'd like the full version.
;# background
the original idea for this tune was actually conceived (believe it or
not) from "fruit of the loom" by zodiak. i started a remix of it using the
same lead riff, but eventually destroyed the leads and modified the
backing pads.
the song's actually been in the works continuously since december 1996.
many people, including legend, kemorlytas and lemm, wanted to do co-ops.
in the end, as i pondered what i should enter as my tune for Assembly, i
realised that if this song was to have the feeling i wanted to convey and
if it was ever to be finished, i'd have to do it myself.
the whole song's purpose is a love song. i poured my heart & soul into
writing this, and it says everything i wanted to say about the person it's
written for and my feelings about her. i've spent easily over 80 total
hours on it, and it's by far the best song i've written.
thanks to legend, mickrip and sidewinder for providing numerous ideas
for this tune; without them, this song wouldn't be what it is. Liam, you
know what you've done for the tune and you know that this probably
wouldn't exist without your many ideas and ceaseless support. i owe you
if this gets anywhere at Asm.
;# sample details
about half of the samples were done by me. the percussion samples were
taken from various sample cd's. the bass was sampled from the "everytime
you touch me" remix parts by moby. the loop was originally from "ajare" by
way out west and had some fiddling done to it with impulse tracker's wav
writer. the "i'll take you up ..." vocal is from "let me be your fantasy"
by baby-d with the backing strings removed. you're free to use any of the
samples in your own tunes, of course.
i've indicated samples i've ripped from other people.
