The Saga of I Narmacil, the Flame-Sword
Chapter 5
A Shadow over Hobbiton

As usual the life in Hobbiton was peaceful and happy. They didn't care much of
the world outside the Shire.
Because of this, they didn't know of the new shadow growing.
The elves had left middle earth in the end of the 3rd age; now it was the age of
men in middle earth and they didn't care much for the hobbits,
and left them alone.
Numenor, a not very respectible hobbit, was dancing over the grass.
He was so happy, but didn't know why.
Hi collected mushrooms and flowers and sang quietly on a happy song for
himself. Birds were singing in the trees, the sun warmed the quiet breeze of
the wind and a smell of peace and summer filled the air.
"The 4th age was indeed a beautiful time to live in", Numenor thought.
Suddenly a great darkness fell over the sun. Numenor looked up and suddenly
he could hear a deep drum frequently tomming, the ground began to shake.
Suddenly a great black shadow appeared in the horrizon. Thousands of orcs,
armies clad in armour and bearing swords. In the front a tall knight was walking
In his arms he held a sword; a sword so beautiful, but yet fearfull and
grusome. A red, burning light was surrounding the sword, I Narmacil,
the flame-sword...
Numenor felt it like ice were creeping down his neck, and he ran; he ran like
he had never thought he could; and still he wasn't running fast enough. In a
last effort of strenght he jumped behind a stone for hiding.
The orc-army passed without noticing the frigtened hobbit.
Numenor cried, he heard the screams of orcs and the cries of the hobbits in his
town. The sky got filled with redwhite flames, then everything went silent.
After a time that felt like hours he walked back to Hobbiton, a terrible sight
met his eyes as he aproached. Dead hobbits, all the houses were on fire.
He fell down on a stone with the hands infront of his face, and he cried...
