"At the World's End" - Benefit of the Boomerang [Yomi Records] http://yomirecords.dnsq.org ---------------------------- Time: 00:08:45 Styles: Epic/Fantasy According to Predator... so kill him if you feel offended or anything :-) ---------------------------- Reason: There are those times in ye life that ye start to value more than our regular dough, chicks, mates, beer, deliriums and dope... I know, they are rare, but when they hit me, my eyes have a brand new look on this planet... Normally, as negative as I am, I only want to shout out how wrong we are, how much I want to change things and fuck up everything that stands in the way of a better place. Sometimes I see the beauty of this place. Every morning when I wake up, I see her lying next to me, still enjoying her stay in Wonderland... ------------------------------------ Motivation: Greetz and respects! All fiends from the Scene: Predator, Oetie, Mbato, Ydroj, Mellow, Roel, Spoz, Methanol, Evil Susie Sexy Billah-Z, all fiends at [modulez] Samplemaster, Spyefex, DJ Auburn, Analysis DemoKraven, PPH, THIGco, Vowthorn Basscontrol, LPChip, Masenka, Xcalibur, Novus, Hijinx, Error303, all fiends at Homemusic and in my eyes still the one man behind the conspiracy of trackers, Mister X! All you forum fiends at Zweinstein: Susie, Ravenblood, Scarlet, Babygirl, Rieva, Fizz, Fiet, Marij Some special shouts go out too! - Rim - Lisha - The little voices - HERMAN - Preddy's brand new V-Amp 2 Predator, thanx a farken million for your help on tuning this bitch and letting the guitars sound more natural and more melodic! Spoz, the only thing that frightens me is that you KNOW when a song is gay... Potential George Michael...? What...? You wanna kill me...? Why? - Boomerang ------------------------------------ Result: It all started with a combo of two things actually... First of all, as a guitar-playing practice to learn playing a little faster. It grew when I added a bassguitar and a simple piano melody [a3 - e4 - a4] Second, it all began with the backing piano in the song. I wrote it down on paper once, after messing with a sample. I liked wot I did and just wrote down every single note and kept it safe somewhere... that was almost 1 year ago... I recently [read: 4 months ago] discovered those papers and thought I should be able to actually track it now, coz back then, I sucked to much to input it and make it sound nice... I did, and the main part of the piano melodies where born... After awhile, when I messed with the guitar-practice again, I saw that the piano riff I used in that song fitted great with the other melodies I wrote... So, logically, I combined the guitar song with the piano song... The result seemed very nice to me, and for another week, I was satisfied. Till one day, I figured I should do more with this one. I went back to the workshop and extended the bassline + more guitar melodies (although this time far to complicated for me to play meself) and I started adding the first few strings... The song lasted for almost 3 minutes now, and I was kinda happy with the result... even though it sounded dull, empty and very overused... One day, it hit me, right in the head. I could tell you what it was, but you'll probably lock me up safely in some psychoward... I grabbed my pen and my trusty FT2 to start composing like farken apeshit! I never felt this way before, from hardcore junglist madness and industrial technoish insanity to soft, melodic fantasy stuff... it was damn weird... What I composed the next few weeks, starts from around pattern 28 [in FT2] or in musical language, from around 3:00. It grew, grew, grew... I didn't know when to quit, it all fell in place instantly! The only problem was making it sound solid, let it flow over 8 minutes and especially make it sound in-tune... Predator helped me big time on that part. He helped me a lot with the guitar parts, making them sound realistic, more interesting and more suitable for this song. He also helped me with some bassnotes and he tuned the sucker to perfection. Lotsa credit goes to that guy... Well, go on! Stalk him! The worst part came when the composition was all done. I had to place all the instruments in order and give em all their own channels for future mastering. That was HELL coz I tend to track all over the place, heh heh... Anyway, after awhile, that too got fixed and every instrument has its own set of channels. Also nice for MIDI output ;) Well, it's done now. It's not as good as it could be, but that's coz of my lack of good samples and my lacking tracking abilities. Not to mention this being my first fantasy tune... Aw, I'll quit the excuses... GET RRRREADY TO FLAAAAAME!!! - Boomerang -------------------------------------- Wot's happening at [YR] Expect some more Industrial Boomster madness soon since a few gigs are coming up! Breakbeat insanity with full vocal raging + A paranoid trip beyond the portals of Wonderland... --------------------------------------
