"Logical Control Right" ranked 3rd in the streamed music compo at the
Ultimate Meeting 2009. Let me elaborate on the "making of" a bit. :-)
Some time in october 2009, I had this Bladerunner remix by Phaser in my
head and couldn't forget the melody. So I opened OpenMPT, loaded my new
favourite toy (Synth1) and jammed the melody into the tracker. Added
my other toy, TriDirt, added some (over)drive to the instruments...
et voil., first class trance patches! Well, maybe not first class, but
damn close and it was so easy. So I decided to make some cheese trance!
However, it became clear quickly that this would be my entry for a tUM
compo so I removed all the Bladerunner melodies to avoid possible copy-
right problems. This is practically a completely new track, but with
the same patches. Maybe I'll also release the Bladerunner remix one day
and then you can compare. :-P
Which brings me to the point of finishing stuff. I wanted to add more
parts to this track after the compo, including a piano breakdown.
However, I was quite lazy so I dropped the idea and now I'm releasing
this as an "almost compo edit". "Almost" because I slowed the track
down to the original tempo (140bpm) which is a lot better.
This track sat on my HDD for another month after tUM so I though I'd
just finalize the module comments and upload it "as is".
So, maybe there will be more cheese trance based on this in the future!
It was fun making this track, but it's enough cheese trance for now.
