Stern Faith on Crete

I started working on Crete in April 2000 when a friend of mine just out of
the blue decided to hold a d'n'b compo. Well, although I knew what my
contribution to such would inevitably be like (anything else, that is) I
decided to give it a try and the result was the first part of this song.

The compo didn't turn out as anything and so the project was dropped.
However, it kept holding on to the topmost positions of my "finish this"
-list. But I just couldn't figure out how to go on from what there was.

Then, a year later, I was once again listening to the beginning and
realised that it actually sounded a bit like r'n'b. That inspired me to
take it up again and work on it. In one intensive day it was finished.

The result was something quite interesting. No one of the people I asked
for prerelease comments was able to address a suitable genre for it. The
only suggestion I got was Saturnina's "Techno-Heavy-ESC Style" that I
think might be the closest you can get to the essence of this piece... :-]

Kinda that way.
