  33. I've had lots of 'em
  34. and always thought
  35. that they were
  36. responsible of the
  37. low sound quality
  38. of my mods but the
  39. truth is that it
  40. wasn't the samples'.
  41. There are samples
  42. I used in 97,98,99
  43. and in every year
  44. they didn't sound
  45. the same. I think
  46. that technic is the
  47. most important thing
  48. to have a good
  49. sound quality when
  50. it comes to tracking
  51. I didn't notice it
  52. at first but volume
  53. mixing and panning
  54. can make a song
  55. a good song or a
  56. bad song. For
  57. example try to
  58. compete in an 1hour
  59. compo. Sometimes
  60. the sample pack
  61. samples are over
  62. 7 years and seem
  63. to sound very bad.
  64. This happened to
  65. to me in my first 1h
  66. compo... And I was
  67. amazed how the
  68. other trackers used
  69. to make them sound
  70. different from the
  71. awful sound they are
  72. Why am I saying this
  73. after all everyone
  74. knows about this,
  75. no? I thought I knew
  76. it already..."
  78. About compos...
  79. If you read what was
  80. written in "Under
  81. Another Sky" you
  82. might have noticed
  83. that I don't like many
  84. net compos. I thought
  85. I had seen the most
  86. unfair (now closed)
  87. but it seems that
  88. there is worse! Many
  89. competitors enter it
  90. but I think it is one
  91. of the worst ever.
  92. The judge(s?) probably
  93. do(es)n't know what
  94. he/they're doing...
  95. The first thing I've
  96. noticed is that they
  97. tend to mix up things
  98. so that the "skill"
  99. rating seems to be
  100. a "commercial factor"
  101. ...
  102. I don't care much
  103. about it but it is
  104. not a good thing for
  105. the (scene) musicians
  106. who enter this kind
  107. of compo.
