Hi fellow musician!
I had created this tune originally for a demo of my own making in 1999
in .xm format, and in 2015 I decided to take advantage of openMPT's advanced
features to re-elaborate it and make it sound a thousand times better, then
I was lucky enough for it to be included as openMPT example modules.
As some years passed the job I'd done with the track started to feel old,
there was something missing, something in the structure and the overall sound
that needed polishing. The thought of improving it again was beginning to cross
my mind, then I decided to put together a selection of songs in a compilation
album called 'Feel bit' and that was the perfect excuse for me to re-elaborate
this track once more and make it nice and album-ready. I replaced instruments,
improved some bits here and there, added a new middle section and then
'A New Geekodelic Fantasy' was born.
What you have here is very similar to the track that is part of the album,
only there are a couple different samples and the album version has
mixing and mastering done specially for the release and that can't be
reproduced for an example song with a small file size.
I want to give a little advice to all people starting with music composing:
try to convey some feeling with your music, don't just do what's supposed to
sound good or what's in fashion, don't let your music turn into a formula.
That's it. I hope you enjoy the track. :)
Greetings to all the PVM crew (Pungas de Villa Martelli), Kali, Riq,
and the argentine and latin american demoscene.
Special thanks to the creators and maintainers of openMPT, it's amazing to
have such a high quality free software for music creation.
