In my Modplug work folder, I have far too many songs that
are just scraps that were never finished. For a long time,
this was one of them, given the virtually random name of
"Alexandria" and left as just a chorus or two since about
2004. But slowly, new ideas for it started coming up, and
by the time I'd worked out where the song was going, the
subject had almost completely changed.
I've tried to balance the songs in this "album" so that
there's a decent mixture of light and dark moods. A lot
of metal music can be very pessimistic - as a contrast,
this concentrates on the good we have in the world and
what we've achieved. Therefore it's loud and obnoxious.
