  7. I owe a huge thanks

  10. playing the sax in the
  11. song (I sampled it)...
  12. Astradyne/NOISE for
  13. all the brass samples,
  14. and all the trumpet...
  15. Stote/NOISE for all
  16. the percussion samples
  17. in the song.. and
  18. Introspective for his
  19. early preview of the
  20. song which helped me
  21. give it direction (and
  22. brass..).
  23. Without them this song
  24. wouldn't have been the
  25. same. =)
  27. Right. Now for a (sort
  28. of) apology. This song
  29. has a bloody huge file
  30. size (1.5mb). Because
  31. of the trumpet and sax
  32. riffed leads. Some
  33. will doubtless say "he
  34. used riffs cos he cant
  35. track", or whatever.
  36. Well, if I had used
  37. some GUS patch or
  38. whatever it would have
  39. made this MUCH easier.
  40. But the fact is, the
  41. ONLY way to do sax
  42. and trumpet that sound
  43. remotely real is to
  44. use riffs. I could
  45. have dropped the samp
  46. rates more, but if you
  47. want to see what a bad
  48. affect that has on the
  49. samps go into FT2 and
  50. try it. Sorry if the
  51. size causes problems
  52. for GUS owners, but
  53. thems the breaks..

  60. than me of late.. =)

  63. BassQ, + Aquafresh.
  65. This song took about
  66. 4 weeks to write. It
  67. was going to be piano
  68. only, but ended up
  69. being a club jazz song
  70. with all the brass, et
  71. all. It is meant to be
  72. much more mellow than
  73. Grey Note and the like
  74. but I hope I have
  75. captured that club
  76. sound. =)
  78. There are various key
  79. changes but it is all
  80. done in major keys..
  81. Anyway. Thanks for
  82. listening. Expect more
  83. jazz in '97 from me.
