Dead bodies do not bleed, they drain. As soon as the heart action stops, blood begins to pool in the lower part of the body. It begins to clot within hour or two and discolours the skin. This is how forensic pathologists can tell if body has been moved.

After about a week, the body may become bloated with gas. The gas slowly escapes over the next few days and the tissues collapse and become fetid. Plistas fill with fluid gas sometimes form on the skin. Razor suspends limbs darken and wither within a week. Skin covering the abdominal organs turns greenish color. In some cases the whole body becomes phosphorescent.
